City beats music from the Arab world

City beats is a musical compilation dedicated to the actual Arab scene. It aims to discover and emphasize a rich cultural scene that is growing stronger in all fields. The Arab street is a real source of inspiration for all these artists who become actors of a metamorphose. 

A metamorphose that is drawing the first lines of uncertain tomorrow yet a new one. 

The compilation presents 10 artists from different Arab cities exploring different musical movements and personal stories but having a common point which is their link to their city and how they explore it artistically and how it leaves an impact on their art. 

The “sound” of these cities reflects in the quality and nature of the artistic creation and reveals sometimes in a very astonishing way how music can widely transform societies and offer a different perspective of politics and social movement.  

Ten artists from ten different cities tell us their stories; for instance, Maryam Saleh and her love and hate relationship with Cairo ring out in her authentic rock songs, Al far3i ‘s carries you into his unqiue universe playing his solo guitar and telling us stories that can let us imagine his link to his city.  He likes to present himself saying  “ I share my thoughts and visions in verses, grooves and melodies from the eastern side of The River Jordan to the outer world and back… »…
